Mochi & Oak was founded on a simple idea: every child deserves toys that are safe, beautiful, and designed to nurture development.
In 2021, when Maya Chen became a first-time mom, she found herself spending hours researching toys. Were they safe? What were they made of? Would they actually help her daughter learn? The beautiful toys she fell in love with online often came with safety records. The certified-safe options were often uninspired plastic. She couldn't find toys that checked all the boxes: safe, sustainable, developmental, and beautiful. So she decided to create them herself.
